Claughtonwild is a spacious and tranquil 5 acre property with boutique style accommodaton. It consists of 5 upmarket chalets. Situated less than 10 minutes from the Wilpattu National Park. All chalets can be converted in to triple room thus it can accommodate 15 people.
The property has access to Safaris.
Wilpattu National Park Sri Lanka
Wilpattu is Sri Lanka’s best tourist destination and largest national park. This wildlife viewing destination is situated in the northwest coast of Sri Lanka close to The Sacred City of Anuradhapura (UNESCO World Heritage).
Wilpattu is situated 180km north of Colombo with native wildlife within their habitats. Wilpattu National Park covers an area of hectares 131,800 (1,317 square kilometers) and is managed by Department of Wildlife Conservation DWC Sri Lanka. Wilpattu National Park was declared as a sanctuary in 1905 and upgraded to a National Park on February 25, 1938. (Perera, 2018). Wilpattua National Park is one of the most recommended tourist destinations in Sri Lanka especially for family adventure holidays & wildlife photography tours in Sri Lanka.
The landscape of the park it is flat and covered with dry evergreen forest of bushes and thorn scrub Open plains has some 40 seasonal or permanent lakes known as Villu rimmed by sand dunes or sandy plains. Villu are flat, shallow depressions containing rain water, usually with no water inlet or outlet. They give Wilpattu its name: the “Land of lakes”.
Over 50 natural lakes that span the park and vary from ponds to large natural reservoirs. Most of the villus are filled with fresh water and are extensive wetlands, whilst some are filled with sea water.
The exceptional geographical features attract many birds. Further Wilpattu National Park is an ideal place for wildlife educational field trips & research in Sri Lanka.

Each chalet has it own private verandah, where one could indulge in photography of birds (different varieties of birds can be seen from there).

If you are going on a Safari, we will give you a packed breakfast. If it is full day Safari we will provide packed breakfast and lunch.
